Hayden, Id. (May 2, 2011) – Transtector Systems, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of global power and signal integrity protection products, recognized Earth Day and Arbor Day with a community tree planting effort despite a record-breaking late spring snow.
For the past several years, Transtector has purchased young trees in observance of Earth Day and Arbor Day, and provided them to employees for planting throughout the area. This year the company donated over 200 trees in varieties native to the Northwest region.
“Transtector is proud to continually find ways to improve our environmental impact and community support,” said Shawn Thompson, the company’s President. “Our products protect communications networks in an electronic environment, but our company also feels responsibility to protect the natural environment.”
Earth Day, celebrated on April 22, 2011, was founded in the 1970’s to inspire awareness and preservation of the Earth’s natural environment. Arbor Day is a national celebration on the last Friday in April with a 135-year history of encouraging tree planting and care.
“We are committed to conducting our business using best practices in conservation, recycling and waste handling,” said Colleen Krajack, Director of Human Resources. “Encouraging tree planting in our community is one more way we can have a positive effect.”
