Transtector Systems, part of the Protection Technology Group, a division of Smiths Interconnect is pleased to announce Factory Mutual (FM) Class I Division II certification for dc surge protection product lines DRDC, DRI 24 and PDS.
For over four decades Transtector Systems has worked to become the industry leader in the development, design and manufacture of power and signal integrity solutions. The DRDC, DRI 24 and PDS series of dc protection products are now certified to be used in Class I, Division II, Groups A, B, C & D hazardous “classified” areas in both the US and Canada. These standards make it possible for certified Transtector products to be used in chemical plants, refineries, offshore rigs and pharmaceutical plants where potentially explosive gases and liquids may be present.
“Engineering products to the highest standards is a key component to our commitment to our customers and the markets we serve” said Andrew Dawson VP Engineering. “Receiving Class I Div II certification allows Transtector Systems intrinsically safe silicon diode technology to be used with confidence to safeguard critical components in hazardous areas around the world.”
