Hayden, ID – Transtector Systems, a business of Smiths Power has been granted patent No. 8,432,693, dated April 30, 2013 for its high-power band-pass RF filter with gas tube surge suppression.
The patent covers a multi-pole precision band-pass filtering device with added surge protection. Integrated oil dynamically compensates for thermal effects, both mechanically and electrically.
The patented technology specifically supports high-powered RF applications such as government communication facilities requiring electromagnetic pulse (EMP) hardening. These large communication shelters ensure continuous communication capabilities during events of national crisis such as natural disaster or large scale terror or wartime attacks.
