Transtector Systems, a manufacturer of high performance surge protection, is proud to announce its latest design for protection of DeviceNet® systems from transient overvoltages. The DN series is available in two models – the DN-24T is designed to protect the main network trunk line, while the DN-24P protects peripheral node devices that are branched off of the main trunk line.
These 24V DC surge suppressors use Transtector’s patented silicon avalanche suppressor diode (SASD) technology for delivery of 1000A peak surge current protection on the 8/20µs combination wave, or 85A peak on a 10/1000µs long wave surge current. Voltage protection is 60Vp at 1000A (8/20µs combination wave) or 60Vp at 85A (10/1000µs long wave).
Housed inside a molded Noryl enclosure with a UL flame rating of 94-V0, DN-24 surge suppressors are provided with a wall mounting plate. The unit is compact, measuring 6.5 inches in height, by 3 inches in width and 2.7 inches in depth (16.5 cm x 7.62 cm x 6.86 cm). A ¼-20 lug is also provided on the front of each unit to connect the suppressor to system ground. The DN 24T utilizes the male DeviceNet® mini connector, while the DN 24P is installed in series utilizing male and female Euro/M12 DeviceNet® connections.
