Transtector Celebrates Arbor Day with Local Fourth Graders

Transtector Systems is celebrating Arbor Day with local fourth graders by donating to the Kootenai County Arbor Day Committee.

The donation will provide 2000 trees and training materials for students in Post Falls, Coeur d'Alene, Rathdrum, Hayden Lake, Athol, and Spirit Lake. In addition, company employees will plant 150 shade and flowering trees throughout the community.

2008 marks the 21st year that the committee has provided ""Arbor Day"" trees to all fourth graders in Kootenai County. The program is run entirely by volunteers with absolutely zero overhead costs.

“Transtector is proud to be apart of this great effort that has given the community 40,000 trees,” said Sherri Hopkins, project coordinator for Transtector. “Over 30 of our employees will participate this year in planting trees.”

A special planting ceremony will be held in Coeur d’Alene on Saturday, April 26th to recognize Transtector and others who provided donations this year.
