Transtector Systems, a Smiths Group Business, is approaching a record 750 days without a lost time accident. In 2007 the company implemented a new safety program, SAMRI: Safety, Awareness, Measurement, Reward and Improve.
“We’re proud to offer our employees a safe work environment and programs that promote their wellbeing,” said Colleen Krajack, Transtector’s Wellness Program Administrator.
In addition to ongoing safety and awareness training, Transtector encourages employee health through several wellness programs. Transtector’s philosophy is that a healthy employee is a safe employee.
Transtector’s Life Center program offers weekly, free-of-charge, mind and body exercise classes such as Yoga and Tai Chi and onsite therapeutic massage.
Through Transtector’s health insurance, weekly wellness tips are distributed in a informational newsletter based on the monthly topic. The associated website offers numerous tools, programs and information to improve health and vitality.
Transtector employees are also eligible to receive discounts at several local fitness centers and often compete in exercise and weight loss programs.
The safety committee is always looking for ways to improve the work environment. The employees have been rewarded with a catered lunch for every 180 day period without a lost time accident. In addition for every 365 days, each employee receives $25 cash. These fun incentives serve as reminders to be aware, safe and healthy.
About Transtector Systems, A Smiths Group Business
Transtector is an international provider of power quality products including AC, DC, data and signal surge protection, communications power cabinets, EMP protection, lightning protection, and power quality engineering services. Established in 1967, Transtector was the first surge suppression designer to use non-degrading silicon diodes. Our patented, proprietary silicon avalanche suppressor diode (SASD) technology allows for less let-through voltage and lower clamp levels than other surge protection products. No one understands suppression and power quality issues like Transtector.
