The Protection Technology Group, a part of the global technology business Smiths Interconnect, is pleased to announce the recent expansion of its Chinese operations through the acquisition of Shenzhen DOWIN Lightning Technologies, a market-leading Chinese producer of surge protection devices.
DOWIN’s addition to the Protection Technology Group brings quality surge protection products, broad engineering abilities and proven production and testing capabilities. Currently, DOWIN employs close to 400 people at its base in Shenzhen, China where it designs and manufactures devices that protect electronic equipment from the effects of power surges caused by lightning and other spurious sources of high voltage.
