The Transtector ALPU-F140-BA is a high-performance indoor data surge protector (SPD), officially FDOT approved and listed on the FDOT APL as 620-004-012. Designed for Gigabit Ethernet PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt) networks, this industrial-grade surge protection device safeguards critical equipment from transient overvoltage events caused by lightning strikes, electrical switching, and power anomalies. This surge protector future proofs your network for emerging PoE++ applications, and is backwards compatible with IEEE 802.3af PoE, IEEE 802.3at PoE+, and 100Base-T fast Ethernet, and accepts Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a twisted pair cable.

This RJ45-shielded SPD utilizes a hybrid Silicon Avalanche Suppression Diode (SASD) and Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) architecture to deliver full-mode protection, and also implements a dedicated shield-to-ground (S-G) protection element, which safely diverts shield-borne surges to ground and maintains both EMI shielding effectiveness and signal integrity. By absorbing high-energy surges while maintaining a low clamping voltage, the ALPU-F140-BA supports system uptime and ensures the long-term reliability of Ethernet-connected devices operating over PoE++ protocols.
