Power Over Ethernet PoE Midspan Injector Category 5 4 Port 802.3af Type B DIN Rail Mount w/ Lightning Protection

Transtector's PI-4C5-AFB-LPDN quad port, DIN rail, Category 5 (Cat 5) PoE Midspan/Injector (also known as PoE Passive Splitter or Tap) is a commercial grade Power-over-Ethernet device that supplies power for up to four 10/100 Base-T Power-over-Ethernet, PoE equipped network devices. The unit is ideal for supplying power for up to four network appliances like Wireless Access Points and Bridges, Wired Switches and Cameras and IP Telephones with PoE capability. The unit will work with network appliances that use the spare Ethernet data pairs to receive power according to 802.3af Mode B. Power is fed up the unused pairs, 4-5, 7-8. Power can be +/- DC or AC up to 55 volts. The PI-4C5-AFB-LPDN features integral surge protection for the data lines and power feeds. The unit eliminates the need for an external surge protector and provides protection for both common and differential mode surges. High-speed semiconductors clamp any voltage, positive or negative on the wires. The limits are +/- 58 volts on the four cable pairs. The design utilizes Thyristor diode technology which has superior power handling capability compared to TVS or Avalanche diode based designs. It can also be used as a standalone lightning surge protector. A ground lug and terminal is located directly on the injector housing providing superior grounding. The injector can be mounted to a DIN 3 rail using the DIN mounting clip located on the rear of the device. This unit does not come with a power supply. The user can choose the appropriately sized power supply based on the equipment needs up to 60 volts DC or AC.
